The Ministry is mandated to formulate and implement policies related to skills development and training and to promote Science, Technology and Innovation in terms of the Manpower Planning and Development Act, the 2nd Science, Technology and Innovation Policy and Statutory Instrument 1 of 2000.
To coordinate the formulation, implementation and evaluation of gender mainstreaming, inclusivity and wellness policies, strategies and programmes and provide technical advice on those issues.
